Transfer drama: Ndlovu declines Orlando Pirates contract, Mamelodi Sundowns to pounce?

Orlando Pirates fans have been left stunned after a transfer that appeared all but complete suddenly hit a stumbling block. According to iDiski Times’ Sinethemba Makonco, Siyanda Ndlovu has rejected the personal terms offered by the Buccaneers, despite the club already reaching a fee agreement with Golden Arrows and the 23-year-old completing his medical at Mayfair last Thursday. With negotiations now stalled, that development has handed Mamelodi Sundowns a fresh opportunity to enter the race. The Betway Premiership giants are said to have approached Golden Arrows as they attempt to hijack the deal, setting up another major transfer battle between South Africa’s two biggest clubs and leaving Pirates searching for alternatives.

Ndlovu’s sudden availability has sparked renewed interest because of his outstanding breakthrough campaign with Lamontville Golden Arrows in the 2025/26 season. Operating primarily as a right winger, the 22-year-old showcased blistering pace, fearless dribbling and the ability to unlock defences, finishing with four goals and six assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. His fine form was recognised early when he won the Betway Premiership Player of the Month award for September/October 2025, and he also claimed the Goal of the Month prize for a stunning solo effort against Stellenbos
