Shock move? Zimbabwe champions linked with Mamelodi Sundowns striker

The Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League champions, Scottland FC, have reportedly set their sights on Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile as they prepare for next season’s continental campaign. According to a report by FarPost, the ambitious Harare-based club has tabled a lucrative offer to bring the Namibian international to Zimbabwe. Scottland FC is said to have offered Shalulile a signing-on package worth R4.1 million, approximately US$250,000, in an attempt to lure him to Harare when his current contract expires at the end of June. At 31 years old, Shalulile is free to negotiate with other clubs, though neither Scottland nor Sundowns has confirmed that any discussions are taking place.

Shalulile has established himself as one of the Premier Soccer League’s most prolific goalscorers since joining Sundowns from Highlands Park in 2020. He has played a crucial role in the Brazilians’ domestic dominance, helping the club win multiple league titles while consistently finishing among the league’s top scorers. His experience, goalscoring ability, and leadership make him one of the most valuable forwards in Southern African football, factors that could complicate any potential move despite Scottland’s reported financial package.
