Orlando Pirates set for R100 million-plus windfall from Mofokeng and Appollis sales

Orlando Pirates are set to pocket more than R100 million from the expected transfers of Relebohile Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis during the current transfer window. The Buccaneers duo enhanced their reputations with impressive performances for Bafana Bafana at the FIFA World Cup, helping Hugo Broos’ side reach the Round of 32. According to reports from Radar da Liga, Portuguese giants Porto have submitted an offer worth around €4 million (approximately R71 million) for Appollis, a proposal the Soweto giants have accepted. The 24-year-old only joined Pirates from Polokwane City in July 2025 in a deal reportedly worth R16 million, meaning the club stands to make a significant profit on that investment.
