Former Kaizer Chiefs coach to African giants?

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi is reportedly weighing a return to management after offering his services to Wydad Casablanca, one of Africa’s most decorated clubs. Nabi has been out of work since his departure from Chiefs in September last year, ending a brief one-season stint in South Africa. The Tunisian tactician was approached by the Moroccan giants following the sacking of Patrice Carteron, but he turned down an immediate move.

Nabi’s refusal stems from the tight fixture schedule Wydad faces until the end of the domestic campaign, which he feels would not allow him to properly implement his methods. Instead, he has proposed taking over officially at the start of the summer break, after all competitions conclude. This cautious approach highlights Nabi’s desire to pick a project with long-term stability, rather than rushing into a high-pressure rescue mission mid-season.

For Wydad, the hunt for a new coach continues as they seek to salvage their league form. Nabi’s willingness to join in the off-season keeps the door open for a potential appointment, but the club may look elsewhere for an immediate solution. Chiefs fans, meanwhile, will watch with interest, as Nabi’s next move could offer a barometer of his standing in African football after his underwhelming spell at Naturena.
