Ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach Kaze in talks with Betway Premiership team

Former Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze is already back in the football conversation just weeks after leaving Naturena, with the Burundian confirming he is in active talks with an unnamed Betway Premiership side. Kaze, who departed the Amakhosi at the end of the season alongside the entire behind-the-scenes coaching structure, revealed during an interview with Robert Marawa on MSW that discussions are underway. “There are some talks that are happening. If it goes well, I’d gladly take it because I believe I know the platform. The league, the players and the format of the league,” he said, adding that a return to South African football is very much on the table. He described the club as one that finished in the top ten of the league standings, though when pressed on whether it could be Sekhukhune United, he gave only a small indication of familiarity without confirming anything.

Kaze’s recent chapter at Kaizer Chiefs ended after a season of steady improvement, with the club securing a third-place finish that earned CAF Confederation Cup football. He initially arrived as part of Nasreddine Nabi’s technical staff, part of a long-term rebuilding project, but shifted into a co-coaching role alongside Khalil Ben Youssef as Nabi’s tenure
