Betway’s parent company makes billions betting on Africa

Betway’s parent company, Super Group Limited, posted $606 million in revenue for the first quarter of 2026, an 18.5% increase year over year, with Africa driving 44% of that total. The continent has become the company’s most lucrative region, outperforming North America, which saw its revenue share slide from 36% to 31% during the same period. Super Group’s CFO, Alinda van Wyk, told iGaming Business that the firm intends to pour resources into Africa to become the “giants of the continent.” That strategy is paying off, especially in South Africa, where Betway has operated since 2006 and now collects billions from a market that wagered R1.5 trillion in 2024 alone.
